These empty nesters were ready to renovate their condo after living in it for more than a year. They had swapped their five-bedroom house for a condo with two bedrooms plus a den, and now they wanted a larger master bath as well as a dedicated home office.

Liz Johnson Design Studio created the new floor plan and designed the master bath. To create space for the larger bathroom, as well as the office, the existing closet in the master bedroom, which was long and narrow and not very useful, was sacrificed along with a front-hall coat closet.

New “his and her” closets were built on the wall opposite the bed.  I designed the home office as well as the closets after consulting with the homeowners, using Elfa components from The Container Store.

The couple love how easy it is for them to see and reach everything in their new closets.  And the husband, who works from home, is thrilled with the ample shelving and expansive work surfaces in his new office.
